About Me
 

I enjoy working with people of all ages, all present genders and non-binary, and all walks of life. I am progressive in my worldview and I am of the accepting liberal Episcopalian denomination of Christianity. My education includes an undergraduate degree in Human Development, a master’s degree in Counseling, a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Counseling; and I am currently a Ph.D. candidate, Texas Wesleyan University, Marriage and Family Doctoral Program. I hold two Texas licenses, an LPC and LMFT.

 

My counseling work experience has included hospital-based behavioral health, community mental health including the treatment of chronic and severe mental illness, private practice, middle and high school mental health counseling, and an alternative to incarceration substance abuse treatment program for re-entering (from incarceration) individuals.

Individual Counseling/Therapy

I will support you in connecting with your strengths and abilities to help solve your problems. Individual counseling can help you heal from trauma, reduce anxiety or depression, and build healthy self-awareness.

Couples Counseling/Therapy

I will help you build skills and develop strategies to overcome challenges in your relationship. I will help you build skills and develop strategies to overcome challenges in your relationship. Couples counseling can help improve emotional communication, rebuild trust and reduce cycles of conflict.

Family Counseling/Therapy

I will work to understand your unique family situation and join with you to create a better functioning home environment. Family counseling can help strengthen family communication, support child or teen mental health, and navigate life transitions as a family.

I am passionate about helping people live better, more fulfilling lives by overcoming mental, social, and emotional challenges and issues. My commitment is to support you in changing your life and your relationships. We can accomplish this through individual, couples, and/or family therapy*.

*The terms counseling/therapy, and counselor/therapist are used interchangeably.

I specialize in trauma-informed care and emotionally focused therapy. My approach integrates EMDR to help clients process trauma, and EFT to support emotional connection and relational healing.
